# Rollback Deployments (/docs/guides/rollback-deployments)

Something wrong after a deploy? Roll back to any previous version in seconds.

## Rollback [#rollback]

Redeploys a previously built image - no rebuild needed, so it's instant.

1. Go to your service's deployment history
2. Select the deployment you want to restore
3. Click **Rollback**
4. The previous version goes live

Rollback is available for any deployment that has a built image. The very first deployment cannot be rolled back.

### Restoring resources [#restoring-resources]

Every deployment records the CPU and memory it ran with. If your service has been resized since, the rollback dialog offers **Also restore resources** so the old size comes back with the old image.

This is off by default - a plain rollback only changes the image. Turning it on resizes the service across every environment and changes what you are billed for, so it is offered on production rollbacks only. If the old size no longer fits your plan's pool, the rollback is refused and nothing changes - free up resources, buy more CPU/RAM or upgrade, then try again.

## Rebuild [#rebuild]

Re-builds the Docker image from a specific commit and deploys it. Use this when you need a fresh build (e.g., after fixing a dependency issue).

1. Go to your service's deployment history
2. Select the deployment you want to rebuild from
3. Click **Rebuild**

## Cancel a Deployment [#cancel-a-deployment]

Stop a deployment while it's in progress:

1. Open the active deployment
2. Click **Cancel**

The previous version continues running. Cancelled deployments can be rebuilt or rolled back later.
