# Audit Logs (/docs/guides/audit-logs)

Audit logs provide a complete timeline of important actions across your organization.

## Access Audit Logs [#access-audit-logs]

1. Open **Settings**.
2. Go to **Audit Logs**.
3. Browse the table of recent events.

## Log Entry Fields [#log-entry-fields]

Each audit log entry includes:

| Field | Description |
| --------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Action** | What happened (e.g., `deployment:create`, `service:update`) |
| **Entity Type** | What was affected (e.g., deployment, service, project) |
| **Entity ID** | Unique identifier of the affected resource |
| **User** | Who performed the action (user name or "system" for automated actions) |
| **Timestamp** | When the action occurred |
| **Metadata** | Additional context (e.g., changed fields, service name) |

Click on any row to expand it and see full details, including metadata and a link to the affected resource.

## Tracked Actions [#tracked-actions]

Audit logs track actions across these categories:

**Deployments:** create, cancel, rollback, delete

**Services:** create, update, delete, custom domain changes, AI scan actions

**Projects:** create, update, delete

**Workflows:** create, update, delete, enable/disable

**Notification Channels:** create, update, delete

**Organization:** create, update, delete, AI config changes, audit config changes

**Integrations:** GitHub installation link/update/unlink, Slack connect/disconnect

**Subscriptions:** activate, scale up/down, update, cancel

## System Actions [#system-actions]

Actions triggered automatically (e.g., by GitHub webhooks) appear with **"system"** as the actor instead of a user name. This helps distinguish between manual and automated changes.

## Filter and Search [#filter-and-search]

* **Filter by action type** - narrow to specific operations using the action dropdown
* **Filter by actor** - inspect changes from a specific user or system actions
* **Search** - search by entity ID or action text
* **Sort** - sort by timestamp, action, entity type, or user name

## Retention Settings [#retention-settings]

Audit log retention is configurable per organization:

1. Go to **Settings** → **Organization**
2. Find the **Audit Log Configuration** section
3. Set retention period (1-365 days, default: 90 days)
4. Toggle audit logging on or off

Logs older than the retention period are automatically deleted.
